When Bob Burns died in a single-car accident on the evening of April 3, 2014 at the way too young age of 64, the world lost not only a great musical talent, but also a great human being. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee was an original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, playing drums on their first two albums, Pronounced and Second Helping, He was drummer on the original studio versions of both “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird.”  Four months after his passing, we thought it would be a great idea to share an archived KUDZOO interview we did with Bob on May 22, 2011, shortly before he lost the love of his life, Marsha. Here is our interview in its entirety, dedicated to the memory of the man, the drummer, my good friend Bob Burns. Fly on, Free Bird. We miss you buddy.
